Background of the Study
Mobile learning has emerged as a transformative tool in higher education, enabling students to access digital resources anytime, anywhere. At Kaduna State University, integrating mobile learning with digital libraries offers the promise of enhanced access to academic materials and increased learner engagement (Adeyemi, 2023). This integration involves optimizing library interfaces for mobile devices, incorporating responsive design, and ensuring that academic resources are available in mobile-friendly formats. The evolution of mobile technologies has facilitated innovative educational practices such as just-in-time learning and personalized resource recommendations, ultimately bridging the gap between traditional academic libraries and modern digital learning environments (Bello & Musa, 2024). However, despite the rapid adoption of mobile devices among students, challenges remain regarding usability, accessibility, and the seamless integration of learning content with digital library systems. This study will explore how mobile learning initiatives, when effectively integrated with digital libraries, can support academic success and user engagement. In addition, it will address technical challenges, such as connectivity issues and interface design shortcomings, to provide actionable insights for enhancing the overall user experience (Olawale, 2023).

Statement of the Problem
Despite significant investments in mobile learning and digital library platforms at Kaduna State University, there are persistent challenges that affect the seamless integration of these technologies. Students often encounter difficulties with inconsistent mobile interfaces, slow loading times, and limited interactive features, which hinder effective learning and resource discovery (Adeyemi, 2023). The disjointed experience between mobile learning content and digital library resources results in reduced user satisfaction and academic engagement. Moreover, infrastructural limitations and insufficient technical support exacerbate these issues, making it necessary to assess and refine current integration strategies to fully realize the benefits of mobile learning in digital libraries (Bello & Musa, 2024).

Objectives of the Study:

To evaluate the current state of mobile learning integration with digital library services.

To identify usability challenges affecting student interaction.

To propose recommendations for optimizing mobile digital library interfaces.

Research Questions:

How effectively are mobile learning and digital libraries integrated at Kaduna State University?

What are the main usability challenges encountered by students?

What design improvements can enhance user experience and academic performance?

Significance of the Study
This study is significant because it addresses the integration of mobile learning with digital libraries, which is essential for modernizing academic resource delivery. Improved integration will enhance accessibility and support better learning outcomes. The findings will provide valuable insights for administrators and IT developers, offering a pathway for future innovations in digital education and resource management (Olawale, 2023).

Scope and limitations of the study:
The study is confined to the integration of mobile learning with digital library services at Kaduna State University. It does not explore other aspects of mobile learning or digital platforms outside the library context.

Definitions of Terms:

Mobile Learning: The use of mobile devices to access educational content.

Digital Library: An online repository that provides access to academic resources.

Integration: The process of combining mobile learning systems with digital library functionalities.
